Stripe revolutionized online payment processing by providing developer-friendly APIs that make accepting payments as straightforward as integrating any other web service. The platform handles the complex compliance, security, and infrastructure challenges of payment processing, allowing businesses to focus on their products rather than payment logistics. Stripe's API-first design makes it flexible enough to power everything from simple e-commerce checkout flows to sophisticated marketplace platforms that split payments between multiple parties. The platform supports global payment methods including credit cards, digital wallets, bank transfers, and local payment methods across hundreds of countries. Stripe's suite of financial products extends beyond payments to include invoicing, billing subscriptions, fraud prevention, and business banking. The platform has become the foundation for thousands of online businesses, from startups to enterprises, who need reliable, scalable payment infrastructure.
